Programs & Materials Highlights
Our forward-thinking and groundbreaking research projects often result in insightful and inspiring learning materials, many for free.
Investigating Science Outside
What it is: Investigating Science Outdoors engages students in authentic explorations of a study site—a small piece of land near their school that will be the object of scientific study. It is a supplementary science curriculum, targeted for grades 7-9 and is appropriate for afterschool and camp programs, as well as in-school use.
Takeaway: When it's too hot for outdoor summer activities, break out the crayon box and reach for these fun coloring pages! Coloring can offer kids and adults a creative outlet that's both relaxing and educational.
How TERC Can Help: Explore Earth like an astronaut with Windows on Earth. Visit here to see dramatic photos and movies of Earth by astronauts on the International Space Station.
Fun STEM Fact!
The International Space Station is the size of a football field and has been continuously occupied for over 20 years.
Stories from Learners with Intellectual Disabilities Needed! ND in STEM at TERC is seeking personal stories about learners with intellectual disabilities who are passionate about STEM. Share your own or your student's/child's dreams of working in STEM, an extracurricular program they enjoyed, or the moment that sparked their interest in STEM, etc. We would love to highlight these inspiring stories to show that STEM is everywhere and for everyone. Please contact ndinstem@terc.edu if you’d like to share.
Drop by our NCTM booth on September 25-28 and share your thoughts on what makes TERC special. As a token of our appreciation, we're offering free travel mugs! You'll also be able to learn about the latest projects from our researchers and access downloadable STEM education materials at no cost. Follow along with us here.
We love nothing more than seeing how TERC content positively impacts your learning. Share your #TERCTaughtMe moments for the chance to be featured in our next newsletter and receive some TERC swag!
