Free Bilingual Math Resources for Families and Educators

Viviendo Matemáticas is a research-based program that connects educators and Spanish-speaking families to support young children’s math learning through collaboration and shared experiences. The program fosters strong relationships, values community knowledge, and broadens how participants think about early math.

Educators and families can also access a set of free, bilingual (Spanish/English) activity guides inspired by the program, featuring simple, hands-on activities—like making bead bracelets—that help children explore concepts such as counting, patterns, and symmetry in fun and culturally meaningful ways.

A Hands-On Approach to Interdisciplinary Learning
Edutopia

Takeaway: Thoughtfully designed interdisciplinary learning experiences that integrate subjects through inquiry, creativity, and meaningful technology use can transform students into engaged, resilient thinkers who make connections and take ownership of their learning.

How TERC Can Help: TERC’s ExIST project helps teachers bring together biology, systems thinking, and game design in ways that are engaging and meaningful for students. Through hands-on professional development, teachers learn how to involve students as active creators, helping them better understand complex ideas while building creativity and problem-solving skills.

STEM Fact!

Tardigrades are among the most resilient organisms on Earth, able to survive extreme conditions like radiation, freezing, dehydration, and even short-term exposure to space.
